How To View Arabic Pages

Arabic pages in this site are presented as text, not images as in many

Arabic sites on the Internet, allowing for a much faster download .

In order to view them, you need to browse the pages using Arabic Windows 95

You also need to use Microsoft Arabic Internet Explorer 3.02 ,

Netscape Navigator 3.0x or Netscape Communicator 4.0x


Setting Up Microsoft Arabic Internet Explorer 3.02 To View Arabic Pages

The Microsoft Arabic Internet Explorer needs no setup

Just go on and start viewing those pages and enjoy J

 

Setting Up Netscape To View Arabic Pages

Steps for Setting up Netscape 3.x

  1.  
  2. Make sure that you are running Netscape under Arabic Windows.
  3.  
  4. From the main menu, choose Options General Preferences Fonts.
  5.  
  6. In the "For the Encoding" chose User Define
  7.  
  8. Click the "Choose Font" Button to change the default Proportional Font.
  9.  
  10. A "Choose Base Font" box will appear, choose an Arabic font (such as Traditional Arabic or Transparent Arabic) from the list and choose font size 12.
  11.  
  12. Click OK, the "Choose Base Font" box will disappear.
  13.  
  14. Click the "Choose Font" Button to change the default Fixed Font, and chose an Arabic Font, then click OK.
  15.  
  16. Click OK to save the changes.
  17.  
  18. Now you can view and read the Arabic pages.

  20. IMPORTANT : Every time you use Netscape to view Arabic pages (after you have followed steps 1 to 6 - you do NOT need to repeat these steps again), you should choose Options Document Encoding  User Defined.
 

 

Steps for Setting up Netscape Communicator 4.x

  1.  
  2. Make sure that you are running Netscape under Arabic Windows.
  3.  
  4. From the main menu, choose Edit Preferences. From the menu on the left of the "Preferences" box, choose Appearance Fonts.
  5.  
  6. On the right side of the "Preferences" box, choose "User Defined" from     the "For the Encoding" bar.
  7.  
  8. On the right side of the "Preferences" box, choose an Arabic font from the "Variable Width Font" bar and choose font size 12 and chose an Arabic font from the "Fixed Width Font".
  9.  
  10. Click OK to save the changes.
  11.  
  12. Now you can view and read the Arabic pages.

  14. IMPORTANT : Every time you use Netscape to view Arabic pages (after you have followed steps 1 to 5 - you do NOT need to repeat these steps again), you should choose View Encoding User-Defined.
